Compress Video

Processed in your browser · nothing uploaded

How it works

  1. 01

Choose a file for Compress Video. It accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Most files stay in this tab.

  2. 02

Set the options on the workbench — preview, crop or timeline when this tool has one — then press Run.

  3. 03

Download the result. It is also saved in your tray so the next tool can pick it up without another upload.

About this tool

Pick a longest side (1920, 1280 or 854 pixels) and a quality level. The video is re-encoded on your device, so nothing is uploaded and there is no queue. Medium quality at 1280 px typically cuts a phone recording to a third of its size while staying perfectly watchable on a screen.

Questions

What can I open in Compress Video?
Compress Video accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Compress Video upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
