How it works

About this tool

An 80 Hz high-pass removes rumble, then 10 ms windows below the threshold are pulled down. Breath and room tone get quieter; the voice stays. For neural denoise of a fan behind a talker, use Noise Reduce (RNNoise).

What can I open in Noise Gate?
Noise Gate accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Noise Gate upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
