About this tool
Lossless keeps every letter and vector exactly as it is and typically saves 5–30 percent by rewriting the file with object streams and dropping unused objects. Image mode renders each page at the DPI you choose and stores it as JPEG — scanned documents and photo-heavy decks shrink dramatically, but text becomes part of the picture and can no longer be selected. The result tells you how much was saved.

- What can I open in Compress PDF?
- Compress PDF accepts PDF. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
- Does Compress PDF upload my file?
- Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
- How large can the file be?
- Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
