How it works

    Set the options on the workbench — preview, crop or timeline when this tool has one — then press Run.

    Download the result. It is also saved in your tray so the next tool can pick it up without another upload.

About this tool

Set the gain and export. +6 dB sounds about twice as loud; -6 dB half. The result shows the new peak level, and flags it when the audio hits full scale, which means part of the waveform was clipped — lower the gain a little in that case. Video files work too: the tool takes their soundtrack.

Questions

What can I open in Change Volume?
Change Volume accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Change Volume upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
