About this tool

Phone recordings often come out sideways because the orientation is stored as a flag the player ignores. Pick 90°, 180° or 270°: for MP4 and MOV the tool rewrites the rotation matrix and copies the stream, which takes seconds and loses nothing; for WebM, which has no rotation flag, the frames are re-encoded.

What can I open in Rotate Video?
Rotate Video accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Rotate Video upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
