About this tool

Open a clip and a caption sits on the picture. Double-click it to type, the way a title works in an editor. Play or scrub, then drag or draw the box. Presets snap to a corner; Custom is wherever you put it. Size, colour and a backing bar update on the preview. Start and end times hide it outside that window. The burn-in matches what you see; audio is copied. Keep the line short for phones.

What can I open in Add Text to Video?
Add Text to Video accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, MPE, 3GP, 3G2, TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Add Text to Video upload my file?
Most MP4, WebM, images and PDF stay in this tab. Instagram/TikTok crops, DVD, GIF, iPhone presets, stabilize, hard containers (AVI, WMV, HEVC) and a failed local encode go to the server encoder. The file is processed and discarded — we do not keep a copy.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
