About this tool

The tool reads the PDF text layer and writes a .docx with one paragraph per line. You can edit the result in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. It does not rebuild columns, tables or images, and a scan (a picture of text) has no text layer to extract — use PDF to JPG for those pages.

Questions

What can I open in PDF to Word?
PDF to Word accepts PDF. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does PDF to Word upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
