How it works

About this tool

Choose a preset — 1080p, 720p, 480p, a 1080×1080 square or 1080×1920 vertical — or type a custom width and height. Contain keeps the whole picture and adds bars, Cover fills the frame and trims the overflow, Fill stretches. Presets adapt to portrait sources, so 720p on a vertical clip gives 720×1280. Downscaling is also the fastest way to make a file smaller without touching quality settings.

What can I open in Resize Video?
Resize Video accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Resize Video upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
