About this tool

MP3 encoding uses a WebAssembly build of LAME running in your browser; other targets use the encoders your browser ships. Keep the source sample rate unless a device requires otherwise, and choose 192 kbps or higher for music. Video files are accepted too — the audio track is converted and the picture discarded.

What can I open in Audio Converter?
Audio Converter accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Audio Converter upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
