About this tool

On a stereo file the left and right channels are subtracted so sounds panned to the centre — usually the lead vocal — get quieter. Mono files cannot be split this way and are left unchanged. This is the classic karaoke trick, not an AI stem separator.

What can I open in Remove Vocals?
Remove Vocals accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Remove Vocals upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
