How it works

About this tool

Pick a preset and the largest rectangle of that shape is cut from the centre of the frame — square for Instagram, 9:16 for TikTok and Reels, 16:9 to remove black bars from an old recording. Choose Custom to enter left, top, width and height in pixels. Cropping changes the picture, so the video is re-encoded at the new size while the audio is copied.

Questions

What can I open in Crop Video?
Crop Video accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Crop Video upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
