Trim Video
Cut a video to a time range. Copies the original streams, so it takes seconds and loses nothing.
How it works
- 01
Choose a file for Trim Video. It accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Most files stay in this tab.
- 02
Set the options on the workbench — preview, crop or timeline when this tool has one — then press Run.
- 03
Download the result. It is also saved in your tray so the next tool can pick it up without another upload.
About this tool
Enter a start and end time and the tool copies every packet in between into a new file. Because nothing is decoded, a two-gigabyte recording cuts as fast as your disk can read it and the output is exactly as sharp as the source. Cuts start on the nearest keyframe before your start time — usually within a second or two on web video — and the result shows the actual range used.
Questions
- What can I open in Trim Video?
- Trim Video accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
- Does Trim Video upload my file?
- Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
- How large can the file be?
- Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
