How it works

  1. 01

Choose a file for Video to GIF. It accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Most files stay in this tab.

  2. 02

Set the options on the workbench — preview, crop or timeline when this tool has one — then press Run.

  3. 03

Download the result. It is also saved in your tray so the next tool can pick it up without another upload.

About this tool

GIFs are large. The cap on length, width and frame rate is there so the file you download can actually be posted. Audio is dropped. For a longer clip, trim first, then convert.

Questions

What can I open in Video to GIF?
Video to GIF accepts MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS. Older video containers such as AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG and 3GP are decoded by the server encoder.
Does Video to GIF upload my file?
Browser-native formats stay in this tab. Formats the browser cannot write (AVI, WMV, HEVC, AMR and similar) go to our encoder and are deleted after the download.
How large can the file be?
Free: 500 MB and 8 exports a day. Plus (waitlist) raises the daily cap. A pasted public file URL is also accepted.
